Mile
High Wakeboarding Team Riders
Our Team Rider positions are currently filled.
Brief Description: Team
Rider positions are usually for one or two seasons in length,
so we are always looking for quality individuals to help build out our team of sponsored riders.
If you have a great attitude, are promotable, clean cut, and
love the sport of wakeboarding, email (moreinfo -the at symbol-
milehighwakeboarding.com) us a quick summary of yourself,
including why you think you would be a good team rider. If
you have a short (less than 5 minutes) video on YouTube, that's always
a plus. We hand-select our team based on several factors,
not just riding ability.
Our
sponsored, team riders receive professional discounts on all
of their equipment, free and/or cost on any company clothing and gear, and free access and/or discounts to select adventures, trips, and professional clinics. Team riders also receive paid entry into local contests and other promotional
events, and many other company perks,
including photo and podium incentives.
So
if you are a positive person to be around, can ride a wakeboard,
and would love to help grow the sport of wakeboarding, this
could be for you.

Cameron is an enthusiastic young wakeboarder that brings a unique approach to his bag of tricks. You'll usually find him on the podium at the contests because of his solid consistency and style. He is super excited about the sport and always has great feedback for new ideas and events. He is even working with legends like Shaun Murray and Greg Nelson to design some of his own wakeboard concepts for a school project. Cameron is a great example of a local rider that keeps getting better each season and is a valuable part of our team.

Team Manager Comments
Chris is a perfect example for those of us that must hold down a full time corporate job in balance with our hobbies and personal time. Chris is a remarkable rider and a very quick learner. Not only did he enter and win his first contest last year, he won the overall "most improved" for the season - by a long shot. In one day on the water with me last season, he learned 2-3 big new tricks and was on his way to several more. I couldn't believe how fast he catches on so I am looking forward to seeing him build his skills even more this season! A great guy to be around, Chris is a very valuable part of our 2009 team and sets a great example for others and our sport.

Danielle is another great example for those of us that must balance a full life with our sports and personal time. Taking every trick she does as big as most of the boys, Danielle is an explosive fireball that rides at 100% every time she hits the water. Already one of the best female riders in the area, she continues to improve every time she takes a set. I look forward to seeing more of Danielle's riding as she builds out her foundation and starts to compete at the bigger national events and contests.

Recently back from his 2nd tour in Iraq, Hunter is just a great guy and rider. He's easy going and gets along well with just about anyone. Growing up in the southeast, Hunter was always on the water and got the wakeboard bug at a very early age. With his solid foundation of the basics, he is already one of the best riders in the area. After dusting off the cobwebs from a 2-year pause while he served our country, Hunter will be building out his bag of tricks this summer as he hits the water once again.

After bribing us for an instructor position, the verdict is still out on this character. Originally from the northeast, he's already used to the frigid waters we have here in Colorado so we expect that he'll be just fine after his exhaustive month of training in Florida and putting up with me. Speaking with a slight Boston accent, Jeramie is a fun guy to be around and enthusiastic part of the team. I look forward to Jeramie helping out with some of the up and coming talent as the next generation of riders takes over.

Team Manager Comments
I've watched this rider closely since 2007 and one could say the phrase, "speak softly and carry a big stick" really applies to this talented young rider. Very shy at the outset, this young ripper brings the heat when it really counts. Josh impressed me with not only his consistently improving riding skills and potential, but the fact that he never talks smack and just leaves it all out on the water. Clearly a convincing competitor, he's smoked his division in nearly every contest he's entered, and he's on the brink of riding with the big boys as he starts to add to his bag of tricks. A fun guy to have on the boat, Josh is a great example of what we look for in our team members.

Parker is one of those rare riders that just naturally get it. He's a great listener and is really focused when he's on the water. He spent one day on the water with me last year and added 2-3 big tricks while cleaning up 2 or 3 more. Already a solid competitor and a super guy to hang around, Parker is yet another example of the enthusiasm and energy our sport is known for, and he's a great asset to our team. I expect that Parker will be another that develops into a great coach and helps the next evolution of young riders.

What
would you like to do when you get older? Live off the
jackpot I will be winning this Saturday.
What
colleges are you thinking about (if applicable)? N/A
Where
do you see yourself in 5 years? In a warmer climate.
How
did you start wakeboarding? My buddy had a Skurfer and
I rode it once and loved it. I was a heelside hero by the
end of the day. About 3 years years later I rode the OG Hyperlite
and I got hooked. That Bayliner rocked!
How
long have you been wakeboarding? About 10 years.
How
often do you ride? This season, I would like to ride 2-3 times a week
or more if it fits in with working and other projects.
Where
do you ride most often? A private lake with no name, and
a couple of other private lakes in and around Denver, and anywhere
with good water when I have the chance to ride.
What
boat do you ride behind most often? I ride behind an X-Star, a Malibu VLX, Nautique 230, and
a Supra 22 most often.
What
board / bindings do you ride? Why? I am sporting the Hyperlite Shaun Murray 140 - cause it's simply the best board I've EVER ridden. Liquid Force Shane bindings cause they are like slippers and they have great flexibility and zero pressure points.
Whats
your favorite thing about wakeboarding? Spending time
with family and friends and having my dog crawl under the
driver seat on her doggy bed to sleep all day. I enjoy it most when it's hot
outside and the water is warm. You can try almost anything
and stay loose. I also enjoy seeing people learn new things.
It keeps the sport exciting at any level.
Money
no object, what new boat would you buy? Why? I've owned
all of the best boats so I would say any quality boat with a good,
clean wake, modern conveniences, and a good dealership to
back it up. Service goes much further than the
actual boat. That said, a yacht in the Bahamas' wouldn't exactly suck.
What other water-sports do you do? (Surf, skate, etc.) I'll wakesurf if its rough but I didn't take one surfing set at all last season. I really like to ride every chance
I get.
Whats
your favorite trick to watch? Why? Big, grabbed, floaty,
backside 180's and grabbed, late 3's without a handle pass. Because it shows the real style of the sport and it's just fun to watch.
Whats
your favorite trick to perform? Why? I like the 911 or
Indy Glide off a double up because its has a very floaty feel
to it, and you are in the air for what feels like forever.
I also like lofty and lazy spins because you can stall and
poke them out, and there is always a new variation to learn
or work on. Never even tried wrap spins before last season and got hooked on the endless possibilities.
If
you could ride with any rider for a day, who would it be?
Why? I would ride with my buddies in Cali (shout out to Mark
and Matt) because it is always a positive vibe and everyone
is always learning new things. Buff daddy is pretty fun to
ride with too. I learned more tricks in one summer with that
old fart than any other summer put together.
What
type of wakeboarding activities would you like to see in the
Denver area? I would like to see more participation and interest in
the sport and also more contests and events that attract more people
to the sport. We need the community vibe that they have elsewhere.
